Starting A New Job? Here's How You Can Adapt To A New Role Within 30 days
Congratulations! You are starting a new role or were promoted to a new one.
You go, you!
Onboarding isn't just about taking action.
It's about clarity, communication, and support. I learned the hard way that even the most dedicated individuals can falter without proper support.

You’d want to focus on 3 main things when starting a new role:
How does work get approved?
Review your first team meeting agenda; what work is on the list, how did it get there, and what is taking a long time vs. getting done fast? What does your manager approve of his/her own vs. will take the topic or question to another person for review/decision making?
How does work get done?
Do you create your own timelines or are they created for you? Do you run with the whole project and then share it for final approval? Do you need to remove your own obstacle, or do you do that as a team?
Who do you work with, and who does your work get utilized by?
Who is your end user? Is it a department, a leader, or a customer? Who are they, what do they care about? What worked in the past, what didn't?
Onboarding into a new role is more than feeling like you're doing a great job and your boss likes you. It's a six-month journey involving you, the company, and the work. Will this three-way relationship be beneficial for everyone? Will it be good for you?
